Flat Felt Food

I’ve seen some really beautiful 3D felt food online, but I am not a sew-er like the pros that make those. I can sew, but I never have done it a great deal and I don’t have a built in passion for it. I did however, make my own version of felt food that I would have loved to play with when I was a little girl, if only I had thought of it!

It really is simple to cut basic fruit and veggie shapes out of felt. You don’t have to stuff them before sewing, but it does give them a little more character when they have a little stuffing in them. As you can see from the photo above, they aren’t perfect, but they are fun to play with! Your preschoolers will love you!

Alternate:  If you don’t have a sewing machine and you don’t want to hand sew, just use a small amount of regular glue to stick the layers together.  They will be stiffer, but it will still work.

Enjoy!

  1. Great idea! And it's wonderful to know felt objects can be made without sewing!
