MIA, Now Moving Forward!

Yes, it is true. I’ve been missing, missing out, and missing it!

Why I was missing:

Some of you may or may not know that I moved–not just to another home, but to another state.  This move has taken a lot of adjustment from packing/unpacking and acclimating to another climate to job hunting and missing important family members–namely my grandchildren.  (Not that I don’t miss the rest of you too!)  Anyway, it has been (and still is) a process I am working through.

Missing out:

Why am I telling you all this?  Well first, I wanted you to know I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth.  In the midst of all the other stuff, I have still been connected online through Facebook, Pinterest, and other networks I’ve been involved with for over a year.

Secondly, in my spare time (otherwise known as de-stressing time), I have been inspired by a few folks to get back in the swing of things and I’d like to tell you about them:

This special lady (my mentor and coach), LaTara Ham-Ying,  is someone I have been interning with as a blog manager at her site, Integrated Woman Ministries, for the better part of a year.  She has taught me many things from how to maneuver WordPress to how to build an online presence.  It is LaTara’s mission to “provide a community whereby women seeking a new direction or more clarification of their path can find solace in a godly atmosphere among like-minded women who are also seeking [the same].”  Her motto is “Keepin it Real” and two of the short videos she has produced that are inspirations and examples of this are:

Straight Talk Moments:  Work From Where You Are (Encouragement to be forward thinking and moving–no excuses!)

AND

Giving Up…Not an Option (This one brought me to tears.  A lesson for all of us… “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.” Psalm 8:2)

Here’s to moving FORWARD!

Thanks, LaTara and Brehane!

The second person, and one I haven’t been following for very long is, Amy Lynn Andrews, of Blogging with Amy. Two of her posts that resonated with me the most recently are The Trouble With Blogging and Do You Need to Declare Blog Bankruptcy?  (Don’t get me wrong!  I am not declaring bankruptcy, but instead declaring ADVANCEMENT!)

Here’s to moving FORWARD!

Thanks, Amy!

The third person I’d like to mention is Darren Rowse of Problogger.net.  Although I learned of Darren in 2009 and signed up for his challenge series “31 Days to Build a Better Blog,” I never really carried it through and eventually it got buried in my “have good intentions to do” heap.  I am just now going back to to that series and trying to apply the things I learn–even if it is at a turtles pace!  Darren has compiled all the info into an easy to use book with the same title, 31 Days To Build A Better Blog, and I recommend that you click the link to check it out.

Here’s to moving FORWARD!

Thanks, Darren!

Missing It!

Finally, I just wanted you to know I am missing it and missing you! So, despite all the obstacles I have allowed to come between us…

Here’s to moving FORWARD!

Thank you, my friends!
